Join us to celebrate 140 years since the sale of the ‘Spottiswoode Estate’ in 1886.
Local historian Jim Hevey, author of Spotswood: The Family Name and Suburb History Notes (2022) will share stories and insights and research from Spotswood’s past before a special screening of the Australian film Spotswood (1991).
Set in the 1960s, Spotswood is an Australian business comedy-drama film centring around a fictional struggling Spotswood moccasin factory. Spotswood captures a local community shaped by industry and working class life.
Deepen your knowledge of a beloved Hobsons Bay suburb and relive its introduction to audiences around the world as we celebrate one of Spotswood’s milestones!
