The Paper Plane Project is a limited series of 500 numbered, signed glass sculptures of a paper plane by Sydney glass artist Mark Wotherspoon. Each is a clear glass form of four joined triangles, the simplest expression of what he calls Trianglism. The sculptures are sold in order: plane #1 costs $1, plane #2 costs $2, and so on up to $500 for #500. There is a limit of one per person, so the lowest numbers go to those who arrive first on opening morning at 9am Sunday 1 November.
This is a rare way to own an original sculpture, and a conversation piece for the home.
Alongside it, painter Sokquon Tran returns after five years with NEW WORKS: 50 new oil paintings of Sydney’s most familiar sights, built up with brush and palette knife.
Free entry. Ellipsis Gallery is on Level 1, 41 Crown Street, Woolloomooloo, upstairs from Viand.
