Founded in 2018, AfroDesi connects African and South Asian cultures through music and dance. With sold-out shows across London, Dubai, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, the movement brings people together through rhythm, familiar melodies and a shared need to move.

Now, it’s Melbourne’s turn.

AfroDesi’s Creative Director and Resident DJ brings the sound behind the movement: African rhythms, South Asian musical influences and his own AfroDesi edits.

Think the melodies you grew up with, finding a different life on the dancefloor. From Mere Rashke Qamar to Say Na Say Na, MR SAJ’s edits take familiar sounds somewhere unexpected.
